Backstory:
"One More Cup of Coffee" was inspired by Dylan's visit to a gypsy festival in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, France, in 1975. While there, he encountered a gypsy king who with numerous wives and children, and experienced a week of intense cultural immersion that included wild celebrations. When it was time to leave, Dylan asked for a cup of coffee for the road, which the gypsies gave him in a bag. Dylan later reflected that the experience left a powerful impression on him, recalling standing and looking out, feeling as if he were gazing down at "the valley below." The exotic, mystical atmosphere of the gypsy community—with its sense of being outside the ordinary world.
